My name is Chelsie Brown and I live in Tucson, AZ. I graduate from the University of Arizona (Go Wildcats!) in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. I just finished up my second round of college and received my Master's Degree just this past spring in Educational Technology. I LOVE learning and try to share that love with my students. I just started my sixth year of teaching. I have taught first and second grade. I think second grade might be my favorite! I have a wonderful group of kiddos this year and I am so excited to learn and grow with them this school year!
I am also a NEW MOM! My hubby and I welcomed a baby boy in March and I am IN LOVE! I love my family...I cherish every single moment because I don't know how many moments I will have with my loves<3

Okay! Let's get to the point of this blog! Like most of the country, I am trying to wrap my head around this whole common core thing! I will be sharing my adventures with the new standards here. I LOOOOOOOVVVVEEEEEEEE reading! And I JUST love teaching it! My kiddos know it! Now math....not.so.much. I try my best not to show this to my students but I definitely feel they can tell just which subject I favor. SOOOOOOoooo my goal this year is to gain a deeper love for math and strengthen my math teaching skills this year. I will post my reading activities (my love) but I am going to make an effort to try out some new math ideas this year that will help me accomplish my goal. New year. New standards. New goals. BRING IT ON!
